Independence 2026 Election

Next April will be a big election in Independence. Here’s why?

We will elect a mayor and two at large City Council members.

There will be a February primary February for mayor and at large City Council members.

We also will elect two directors for the Independence Board of Education and also in the Fort Osage School District.

Other issues (at this point) which will be on the April 2026 ballot include:

$60 million no-tax-increase bond issue from the Independence School District.
